At the age of 19, she released her debut single Here. The song received praise both from listeners and music critics. It reached the top spot at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's Top Songs. The same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts. This includes those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track since, in light of her Rap-Up interview she conducted, many of the listeners could relate to her experience in learning to love themselves as well as doubting herself. Cara's tracks often contain positive thoughts about mental health, and the importance of being self-love. Everything stems from her personal experiences as she struggled with mental health issues and insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she described her album as half tumultuous and half complete. She claims she has grown through therapy and she encourages other people to get help when they need it. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since 1996. Her parents have Italian heritage. The guitar was gifted to her from her parents at the time she was 10, which ignited the passion for music. In the year 2003, she turned 13 she started singing her favorite tracks on YouTube. It was an excellent way to showcase to others the fact that she had ability and determination. Sweater Weather became her most famous song. A record label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
