Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music by the name of Harry Styles, is a British singer and composer, recognized as being a part of the group One Direction. The son of Des Styles (father) and Anne Cox, Harry Styles was born February 1, 1994, in Holmes Chapel. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School. There together with his three classmates, he formed his own band called White Eskimo. Following their victory in the Battle of Bands 2009 thanks to a stellar performance, they also participated in the Battle of Bands 2010. Although he has an interest in music He also wished to become an attorney or the profession of physiotherapist. In order to support his family, he spent some time at a bakery. Harry Styles performed Is not She Lovely (Stevie Wonder) during the auditions in 2010 in The X Factor. It was for this reason the band split up. After the audition in The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles be part of the band to be named One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored this five-person group and they were created in the year 2010. They performed the song Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would be Sucking Without You along with Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart. In result, they made it to the finalist. But they finished placed third just behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles did not receive any cash prize. However, Cowell made a deal worth 2 million pounds to One Direction in order for the group to join Syco Records.
