Amber Benson is an American actor, singer, writer and producer. She is most well-known for acting as Tara Maclay from the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Benson has also directed her films Chance, Lovers Liars & Lunatics and played the leading actress in those films. She also appeared in the film Kiss the Bride. Benson was the youngest child of Edward Benson and Diane Benson. Her birthplace was Birmingham in Alabama, on the 8th of January 1977. Danielle Benson, the sister of her is an accomplished artist. Benson was brought up in a Reform Synagogue with her Reform Jewish mother and Jewish father. In the years since Buffy was cancelled, Benson has appeared in movies like The Killing Jar and on shows such as Morganville The Series. In the background, she used her writing abilities to work on the Ghosts of Albion series and was the director on shows like 2010's Drones. Buffy, after spending the time and effort in locating them, claims there are around 1800 Slayers all over the world, and 500 who are part of the Scooby Gang.
