Her family was one of the Mormon (or member) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In her early years as a girl, she studied tap, jazz, and ballet dance. There were many dance contests however it was not until she turned 17 that she made the decision to pursue acting. Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze was her inspiration to become an actor. Cook, who met Nathan Andersen while taking a film class in Utah Valley University in the summer of 2001, got married to him. They have their son Mekhai Allan Andersen, born on 13 September 2008.
